Parking Ticket, Connecticut - The 7-Foot Rule

When Connecticut weatherman (and all around renaissance man) Geoff Fox found out that his daughter’s car was towed, he didn’t rush to pay the fine and towing fee; he did some research instead.

Geoff turned to the Connecticut State Traffic Commission Regulations and discovered Sec. 14-298-514: that parking signs must have a clearance of at least 7 feet above the ground and unobstructed from view.

Geoff’s currently appealing the ticket and is awaiting a verdict, but his photos seem to indicate he’ll win.
